Catholic Church. Liturgy and ritual. Gradual. Graduale. Latin manuscript.
Italy, late 14th century. Vellum. 246 ff. (500 x 362 mm.). Musical notes and
text. Gothic script. Many illuminated, several historiated initials, the rest
in red and black penwork. Bound in old wooden boards covered with leather;
metal corners and center pieces, leather clasps; rebacked.
I-II^^2, III-IX^^8, X^^4, XI-XIX^^8, XX^^1, whole section missing,
XXI-XXIII^^8, XXIV^^4, XXV^^2, XXVI^^6, XXVII-XXXIV^^4, XXXV^^2, XXXVI^^8,
XXXVII^^4, XXXVIII^^6.
Comments: Some of the first folios are missing and some are in the wrong
order. It is foliated in large roman numerals in a 19th century hand. Many
folios are damaged, some were repaired and all wee cut off at the upper and
side edges. An index made in 1721 by Dom Gaetano? at an Italian church occurs
at the end.
